The Pax Center invites LaPorte County to help keep LaPorte County well-fed and well-loved by donating on #GivingTuesday. #GivingTuesday is a global generosity movement, unleashing people and organizations’ power to transform their communities and their world. GivingTuesday will kick off the generosity season this year by inspiring people to give back on December 1, 2020, and throughout the year.

After a brief break in providing community meals because of the pandemic, the Pax Center pivoted to providing hot and nutritious to-go meals twice each week.
Over 6,000 hot meals were given to those in the community through the Pax Center in 2020.
Two years ago, we began the Brighton Street Green Space with the support of the Healthcare Foundation of LaPorte and other area partners. After nearly $1,000,000+ in investment value and thousands of volunteer time hours, the green space will be completed in the spring of 2021.
The Brighton Street Green Space will be unlike anything Northwest Indiana has seen. It has an ADA-compliant education resource building, a barn for gardening and building workshops, thousands of lineal feet for gardening, fruit trees, and gathering space for the community.
The final investment in this space will be a pavilion for multiperson use. We still need to raise $50,000 to construct this pavilion, though we believe it will happen sooner than later.
